The Why? Foundation is a cancer fighting network created by Allison W. Gryphon, her friends, colleagues and caregivers as a response to her April 2011 stage 3a breast cancer diagnosis.
We are focused on day-to-day life during and after treatment.
We are about supporting people through their cancer fight on the ground level, day-to-day, hour-to-hour, minute-to-minute.
We focus on Fighting Cancer with the support of Music, Fashion, Movies, Art, Photography, Smiles and Stories for and by Cancer Fighters and Caregivers… and coming in the Summer of 2016 we’ll be Fighting Cancer with Comic Books and Jim Krueger!
We share original content and seek out and link to articles and videos by reputable publications, doctors, and organizations in an effort to supply a hub of knowledge and support.
We are a grass roots, ever evolving organization and we love that!
There are no rules here. No judgments. No “musts”. We understand that sometimes just putting your feet on the floor to get out of bed is just as challenging as climbing a mountain. Cancer isn’t easy. This team believes that when you or someone you love is fighting cancer you get to feel however you want to feel. Say whatever you need to say. Be angry. Be sad. Be pissed. Be happy. Be defeated. Be inspired. Be educated. Be crazy. And be everything all at once. The Why? Foundation is for everyone.
Cancer Answers is an ever evolving on-line touchstone which offers information on cancer, treatments and helpful ways to fight the disease physically, emotionally, financially, creatively and effectively in a clear and straightforward manner. This is a resource for cancer fighters, caretakers, friends, family, co-workers and people looking for a general understanding.
As much as the medical and the physical are the driving force in fighting cancer, artistic outlets can be wonderful allies to have in your corner. The power of movies, art and music are explored in Fighting Cancer With (You).
The Why? Foundation blog is intended to curate news, stories and inspiration through the shared experiences of cancer fighters, caregivers and medical professionals. Power of Music Mondays. Cancer Answer Tuesdays. Fighting Cancer with Style Wednesdays. Touchstone Thursdays. Super Smile Friday. Shop Right Saturday. Inspired Sundays. Have you read an article or seen a video on-line that you found helpful or made you smile? We’d love for you to share it with us by sending the link to email@example.com.
Intended to help each cancer fighter recipient mentally, physically and emotionally, Fighter Bags are made available to anyone with a cancer diagnosis, on a first-come-first-serve basis, and include a selection of donated products. Please visit our Fighter Bag page to learn more.
Fighting cancer is a battle that happens inside and out. Together Piper Gore and Allison W. Gryphon have come together to Fight Cancer with fashion by creating The Fighter T as well as a series of look books with ideas to help women re-arrange their closets so they can be comfortable and fashionable through each aspect of treatment. 100% of the money taken in for our Fighting Cancer with Fashion Program is put right back into it to allow the Fighter Line and look books to expand and provide women in need with Fighter T’s free of charge. Our first run of 100 Fighter Ts was paid for by donations allowing us to start and maintain a self-sustaining program. Our goal is not only to make The Fighter T available to cancer fighters world wide, but to inspire and parter with other designers to help us fight cancer with fashion. #FighterT #FightingCancerWithFashion
