Chemo. The word alone is like a right hook across the bridge of your nose. This is a treatment that brings the need for cancer fighting fashion to a whole new level. When you lose your hair, you go public with what you’re going through whether you want to or not. That said, you get to do cancer anyway you’d like, that’s the rule.
When chemo started to kick my ass, I kicked back with some fierce bald girl fashion.
Beyond the bald there were a number of other components I needed to consider when I was getting dressed. I was having hot flashes from the chemo that brought on a whole new meaning of the concept of hot. I gained 17lbs from the steroids that accompany chemotherapy treatment. And I had a bruised and often tender arm from the chemo needle and I.V.. Chemo is rough any way you slice it so physical and emotional comfort is everything.
