Movie Fans and Cancer Fighters are Invited to Attend, Host and Inspire.
Documentary feature film What the F@#- is Cancer and Why Does Everybody Have it? has teamed up with Tugg distribution for a series of theatrical and private movie showings to benefit community cancer non-profits.
Screenings have been set in motion to raise both funds and awareness for Send Me on Vacation, Check Your Boobies, Nancy’s List Books, The Why? Foundation and Deborah’s Palm. Each screening will be followed by a Q&A in person or via Skype with the film’s director Allison W. Gryphon and/or the non-profit event ambassador.
“The intent for everyone behind this movie has always been to get it seen, encourage hope and inspire conversation. Joining with these non-profits and using the movie to gather communities and raise money for various cancer support programs is a dream come true and a testament to the next phase of theatrical movie distribution.” says the film’s director Allison W. Gryphon who was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer in April of 2011. “With this tour, we’re not only getting the movie out there to start conversations, we’re able to use this platform to bring attention to some of the smaller cancer organizations who are working to get people the help and support they’re looking for.”
With the intention of not only raising money for the various community non-profits, but to bring them more attention, each organization involved will become part of the greater world tour cross promotion and outreach hosted by the movie’s social media pages.
Anyone interested is invited to host a community screening benefitting one of the chosen non-profits through Tugg.
To host a benefit screening send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org with your name, city and your chosen non-profit from the above filmmaker’s approved list. After receiving your approval email, simply go to Tugg and register for the desired date and theater. The profit percentage from ticket sales, which would otherwise be paid to the filmmakers, will go directly to the designated community non-profit.
General information questions and submissions for screenings to support additional community non-profits or services can be sent to email@example.com for consideration.
Additional information on how Tugg screenings work can be found on their website.
